LORE
INTRODUCTION
Julien is the King of Leiston Kingdom. During his lifetime, he was a good King admired by people. Leiston was crisis-ridden at the time he acceded to the throne. With his hardline tactics, he had not only sanitized the political intervention from the noble families, but also
restored the former prosperity of the Kingdom. In his old age, he was gullible and relied too much on the people taking care of him, who took the advantage to poison his food. He eventually died of chronic poisoning.
APPEARANCE AND CHARACTER
Julien was tall and gracious as a young man. His light blond hair and violet eyes were a trait of his royal family. Old Julien was disfigured and emaciated, with long unkempt hairs. Toxic effects destructed his health and turned the formerly handsome energetic king into a gloomy eccentric.
He endeared himselfto the people of Leiston for his wisdom and decisiveness. As a King of great compassion, he shows no mercy to the enemy.
HISTORY
Julien took the throne when Leiston Kingdom was at the brake of collapse. His father was incurious about the country and wasted his life in debauchery. Taking advantage of the old King’s dereliction of duty, a few noble families gradually took control of the Kingdom. They blandished him with phony complements, while scoffing at his impotence and foolishness in the bbc. The poor little Julien witnessed their blunt hypocrisy, and for his whole life then he loathed fawning hypocrites.
The old King fell to his death in a state ofextreme drunkenness later and Julien had to accede to the throne when the Kingdom was mired in chaos. He led his people to drive the invaders out and survive in the natural disasters. The falling Kingdom rapidly recovered under his rule. In contrast to his father’s feebleness and ignorance, his hardline position deterred the noble families. He was able to assert his authority against the aristocrats and regain the control of his country. Everything was eventually back on track.
Julien’s first wife passed away at an early age and left him with two daughters and a son. Old and lonely, Julien was persuaded to marry Queenie, the daughter of a noble family.
After their marriage, Julien started to have frequent headaches and physical distress. Beautiful young Queenie earned his trust through her meticulous care. Little by little, she replaced the King and was involved in the deciding of many vital matters of the Kingdom.
Julien’s headaches were not relieved with time, and even the master with consummate medical skill had no idea what to do. He became increasingly eccentric and nobody could get close to him, except the Queen, who was permitted to accompany him in dinner. Not long afterwards, he was bedridden and unable to cope with any affaire of the Kingdom.
One day, Julien woke up feeling surprisingly refreshed. His headache disappeared and his vision was restored. He dressed himself and walked into the Basilica as usual to meet with his courtiers. He sat on his throne and saw everyone arriving at the Basilica, but nobody paid him homage, as if he did not exist. When he was puzzled by the irregular behaviors of the courtiers, he saw himself, sickly and weak, walking in with the help of the Queen. They went towards him; the sick Julien coming up and sitting straight through him.
Right at this moment, everyone in the Basilica bowed in homage to the King. Julien realized he was not alive.
But if he was dead, who was sitting on the throne and receiving the homage of his courtiers? Just then he noticed the Queen was glancing at him, with a faint smirk on her face. It was hard to detect the thin threads winding around her fingers. The King sitting on the throne was just a puppet on a string-each of his motions was controlled by the queen.
Terribly shocked by what he had seen, Julien finally realized the wedding with his young wife, his death, the King on the throne were part of the evil conspiracy of Queenie. He had devoted his whole life to protect his Kingdom. He would never sit on his hands and allowed her to usurp his power.
But Julien could do nothing, He left his Kingdom, poising for any chance to revenge.
