INTRODUCTION
Naomi is now the most famous shaman in her tribe, despite enduring years of humiliation and harassment for being a half-orc: the daughter of a human female and a male orc. She was mentored by two shamans: one from the dragons, and one from the orcs. Naomi has an intense obsession with changing the fate ofhalf-orcs, and won’t stop until she learns the true secret to a longer life.
APPEARANCE AND CHARACTER
Naomi is larger in stature than the average human woman, although she is considered thin and weak among other female orcs. She keeps her black hair in multiple, tiny braids and wears a tall shaman crown on top of her head. Her clothes are decorated with the furs and soft leathers of various creatures throughout Armuda. Her face is closer in resemblance to a human woman’s, which is not in line with orc beauty standards.
Naomi is tough and knows exactly what she wants. She has endured all of the temporary humiliation from the orcs in order to achieve her goals.
HISTORY
Half-orcs suffer hatred from other species because of the orc blood flowing through their veins. Therefore, half-orcs have no choice but to live within the orctribe. The same is true of Naomi. Rejected from the outside world, she grew up among the orcs.
Naomi used to be a lot stronger as a child but became inexplicably weak as an adult. A weak orc cannot be a warrior. This traditional view of weakness meant the other orcs pushed Naomi around. Yet Naomi showed no dissatisfaction with her
situation, and accepted the injustices peacefully-she knew that what she lacked in physical strength, she made up for in shamanic power.
On the night Naomi came of age, an unfamiliar voice guided her to a hidden cave. There she met her first teacher-a mysterious figure who never showed his true features. The teacher claimed that he could give Naomi unimaginable power. He gained her trust and taught her profound skills. Naomi wanted to become strong enough to rid herself of the sorrow with which she was born and to dominate her own destiny. With this goal in mind, Naomi was a dutiful student, going to the cave every night to learn from her teacher. He never revealed why he took Naomi in as an apprentice.
When it came time for the eldest shaman of the tribe to choose his next apprentice, he took notice of Naomi’s immense talent. Naomi formally began training with the orcs-and her mysterious teacher disappeared.
Naomi eagerly learned the sorcery passed on by the old shaman of the orc tribe. She also worked hard to continue her previous training, never forgetting the mysterious teacher’s lessons. Yet her progress slowed. Magic that other orcs learned in three days took her three months, and a month for the others took Naomi nearly half a year. Gradually, she realized that the sorcery she learned from her previous teacher was in direct conflict with orc techniques. She refused to give up either, determined to be the master of her own destiny. Naomi studied harder.
Naomi soon learned that the orcs were limited in sorcery, which opened a door to a whole world of power that the orcs couldn’t access-a world where anything that was impossible was now possible. As Naomi’s power grew stronger and stronger, her body became weaker and weaker. At the height of her power, she could barely walk and became irritable. Any orc could see in her eyes that Naomi was full of desire for this higher strength.
A typical half-orc has a limited life span of only a few decades. With such a short amount oftime, it is impossible for half-orcs to obtain mastery. Naomi was not satisfied with such a short life, and wanted to change the fate of the half-orcs. Perhaps this secret to a longer life lies in the legend of the orctotems, which are rumored to hold the secret to longevity-a secret no one can decipher.
After the death of the old shaman, Naomi inherited the role of tribal shaman. Naomi studied the totems day and night until finally, with her new title and power, she was able to decrypt them. Unfortunately, they did not hold all ofthe secrets she was looking for, and her search for longevity continued. Naomi also learned, many years later, that the mysterious figure who taught her the powerful sorcery was actually a dragon.
Then the dark envoy found her and offered her a deal: They would give her the full secret to longevity if she pledged allegiance to the darkness. What will Naomi choose – a long life or the peace of her tribe?
